Description
Mr Layard's provisional appointment as Director of the National Gallery approved by Queen Victoria. Extract of a letter from Victoria, Crown Princess of Prussia, enclosed (not included) regarding the permanent appointment. Her qualifications for expressing an opinion. Mr Monsell's appointment as Vice-President of the Board of Trade approved by Queen Victoria, in the event of Mr Goschen's accepting the Chancellorship of the Duchy of Lancaster. Appointment of Mr H. Fenwick as Civil Lord Admiralty approved.
