The immense importance of her doing so. The proposed Royal Commission on Parliamentary Reform. Lord Derby's enquiry as to the prospect of Lord Grey's consenting to preside over it. General Peel's (Right Honourable Lieutenant General Jonathan Peel) plan for an Army reserve considered by Cabinet. Their approval. George, Duke of Cambridge strongly in favour of it. Lord Derby's request for authority to be, given, by investiture or otherwise, to the Duke of Richmond (Charles Henry, 6th Duke of Richmond) and the Duke of Rutland to wear Garter insignia.
