Description
Lord Derby on filling the vacancy of Treasurer (of Queen Victoria's household) on Lord William Alleyne Cecil Burghley's (after 3rd Marquis of Exeter) succession to the Peerage. Honourable Major Augustus Henry Archibald Anson tentatively proposed for the appointment. Vacancy in the Lord Lieutenancy of Northamptonshire, caused by the death of Brownlow Cecil, 2nd Marquess of Exeter. James Thomas Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan's application for the Lord Lieutenancy of Northamptonshire. Correspondence as to the birth and christening of Edward Geoffrey, 14th Earl Derby's daughter's child. Queen Victoria stands as Sponsor.
