DescriptionGeneral Grey on Lord Derby's attitude to the reported intention of giving Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein one of the Household Cavalry Gold Stick regiments. His wish to give it to Lord Cardigan (Lieutenant General James Thomas Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan) who has been disappointed in not receiving the Lord Lieutenancy of Northamptonshire or the Grand Cross (G.C.B.) General Grey on his lack of claim to the latter. Lord Russell's attitude regarding Alabama (United States of America) claims. A list of persons proposed for Treasurer of Household submitted by Lord Derby (not included). Lord Henry Percy unlikely to accept, in view of his father's and brother's grievances against the Government.
