Description
Lord Derby on the arrangements for conferring the Garter on Alexander II, Czar of Russia. Lord Derby's enquiry as to Queen Victoria's wishes regarding the person to bear the Garter to Francis Joseph, Emperor of Austria. Mr W. Mitchell and Mr H. Thompson submitted for Knighthoods by Lord Derby. Qualifications. Lord Derby on a Naval Review to be arranged for the Sultan of Turkey, Abdul Aziz. Other suggestions for his visit. Importance of giving no opportunity for invidious comparisons with his reception in Paris.
