Description
Queen Victoria's reply to Lord Derby's suggestion as to her receiving the Sultan of Turkey, Abdul Aziz. Her consent to postpone her journey, in spite of its being 'extremely inconvenient and disadvantageous' for her health. Suggestion as to his coming a day earlier than proposed. Dr Jenner to explain the real state of her health. Her complaint of the public's want of consideration in demands made upon her. Her inability to do more, 'working and drudging as she does'. Her refusal to be dictated to or teased by public clamour, and demand for protection from it on part of her Ministers.
