DescriptionLord Derby to General Grey as to a mistake concerning the book 'Early Years of the Prince Consort'. Lord Brownlow (Sir Adelbert Wellington Brownlow-Cust, 3rd Earl Brownlow) proposed for the Lord Lieutenancy of Lincolnshire, in the event of Lord Exeter's refusal. Deanery of Exeter declined by Dr Vaughan. Lord Derby 'thinking of offering' it to Reverend Dr Archibald Boyd. Latter's request for it. Lord Derby's promise to take steps to safeguard Queen Victoria from the danger of kidnapping by Fenians. Kelly's letter, if genuine, probably in reference to Ministers, rather than Her Majesty.
