Description
Appointment of Reverend Dr Archibald Boyd to the Deanery of Exeter approved by Queen Victoria. Lord Derby will in future state whether he nominates high or low churchmen. Lord Derby on his objection to Ritualism. 'I have as strong an objection to the Ritualist clergy as Her Majesty herself can have'. No fear of his submitting any of its adherents for preferment. Many clergy reputed to be such without any grounds. Lord Derby on the question of Queen Victoria's safety from Fenians. Suggested precautions for her journey south from Scotland.
