Description
Mr Disraeli on his first impressions of new American Ambassador, Mr Reverdy Johnson. His anxiety to settle all questions between the two countries, and apparent possession of 'ample powers' to do so. The appointment of the new Dean of Ripon (Dr H. McNeile) has had a favourable reception and quite realised Disraeli's expectations. Has rallied the Protestant Party. Mr Disraeli on the qualities required in the new Bishop of Peterborough. He is 'strongly inclined to recommend Canon W.W. Champneys'.
