Mr Gladstone on the report of the (?first) Black Sea meeting. Tribute to the work of Lord Granville (Granville George, 2nd Earl Granville) and Baron de Brunnow. Cabinet view as to equivalents to Turkey for concession to Russia of the withdrawal of neutralisation. (End of letter missing.) Franco-German War: Cabinet's approval of draft to Mr O. Russell suggesting declaration by Germany of terms of peace. Cabinet's decision as to terms of reply to France's request for recognition of Defence Government. Right Honourable Hugh Childers' health. Not advised by his doctors to resign. Arrangements being made to enable him to continue in office (First Lord of the Admiralty).
