Description
Queen Victoria to Mr Gladstone on a speech by Sir Charles Wentworth Dilke, 2nd Baronet, at Newcastle, and on Mr Gladstone's failure to adequately repudiate his views in favour of republicanism. Danger of allowing such sentiments to be expressed and attacks on Civil List and her not paying Income Tax etc. to pass without reprobation. Condemnation of such opinions expected by Mr Gladstone's supporters in and out of Parliament.
