Description
Sir J. D. Coleridge (after 1st Baron) recommended as Chief Justice in the Court of Common Pleas, on the death of Sir W. Bovill. Henry James recommended as Attorney General, with the offer of a Privy Councillorship and Mr W.G.V. Harcourt recommended as Solicitor General. Claims of these offices to a succession of right to any particular judicial position now dropped, with the passing of the Supreme Court of Judicature Bill.
