Mr Disraeli on the Khedive of Egypt's desire to part with his shares in the Suez Canal. Proposals of a French company. Their effect on the position of the possessor. Vital importance of the Canal belonging to England. Cabinet's decision to obtain the shares, if possible. Khedive's need of 3 to 4 million pounds by the end of the month. 'Scarcely breathing time.' But the thing must be done'.
