Description
Mr Disraeli's reply to Queen Victoria (No. 51) regarding Edinburgh. Mr Disraeli on the uselessness of trying to conciliate the Dissenters, in connection with the Education Bill 1876. History of the measure. Lord Salisbury's letter cited, as showing the difficulties. Weakening effect on Dissenters of the last Reform Bill. Mr Disraeli on Mr Gathorne Hardy's (after 1st Earl of Cranbrook) generous letter (enclosed) and its removal of Cabinet difficulties over his elevation to the Peerage. Readiness to serve under Sir S. Northcote. Probability of his asking to be relieved of his office and raised to the Lords at no distant period.
