DescriptionGladstone replies to Queen Victoria's anxiety as to the encroachments of the House of Commons on the functions of the Executive. He will refer the matter to his colleagues in the cabinet. Gives his own impressions very fully. This movement has increased during the last half century. Commons not going beyond their right in dealing with Conduct of Sir Bartle Frere. Gladstone will resist all undue encroachments.
