Description
They are written in printed diaries and include the names of the various writers and addressees. They were originally labelled 'engagement diaries' but after closer analysis have since been identified as letter registers. Volumes kept by Queen Victoria include additional comments and inscriptions, including references to the time lapsed since the death of Prince Albert
